We Are a Different
Kind of Vet Clinic.
No waiting rooms, no hassle,
and no reason to get out of your car.
Driftwood DriVEThru Vet combines the convenience of a drive-thru with the expertise and care of veterinary professionals.
Pet owners can bring their furry friends for a range of veterinary services without leaving the comfort of their car. Owners can pull their vehicle right into the clinic and wait for a veterinary professional to attend to their pet. A vet tech will come to the car to collect the pet and take them inside the car-side examination room to receive care.
Driftwood DriVEThru Vet offers various services, including routine checkups, vaccinations, wellness exams, dental cleanings, and surgical procedures. Pet owners can schedule appointments at 402-435-3003, option 1.
One of the benefits of DriVEThru Vet at DRIFTWOOD is that it saves pet owners time and reduces stress for both pets and their owners. Visiting a traditional veterinary clinic can be stressful for pets, as they may become anxious or agitated in the waiting room with other “friends.” By eliminating the need to enter a waiting room, pets can remain calm and comfortable in their owner's car.
Parents love the option of keeping the kids buckled in while their furry family members can receive veterinary care! The stress of managing little humans and little critters can sometimes seem overwhelming – but not here!
Not a fan of the elements? Then DRIVETHRU! Braving the hot, cold, ice, sleet, snow, or rain is much easier at DRIFTWOOD DriVEThru Vet.
Driftwood DriVEThru Vet is a convenient and unique approach to veterinary care that caters to the needs of busy pet owners. By providing high-quality care in a stress-free environment, Driftwood DriVEThru Vetcare is revolutionizing the way pets receive medical attention.
- Peace of Mind: Boarding your pets can give you peace of mind knowing that they are being taken care of by trained professionals while you're away. Our dogs go out to an outdoor enclosure four times a day seven days a week. 7:00 am, 11:00 am, 3:00 pm, and 6:30 pm. We also tend to the cats in our care during the same four times we do the dog let-outs. A walk thru/wellness check by a supervisor is done twice a day seven days a week. We also provide a walk thru/rounds by one of our veterinarians once a day Monday - Friday.
- Socialization: We offer an opportunity for your dogs to socialize with other dogs during group play, which can be great for their mental and emotional health. It can also help them develop better social skills and reduce their anxiety around other dogs.
- Health Care: We have veterinary staff on hand to monitor your pets' health and administer any necessary medication. This can be especially important if your pets have health conditions that require close monitoring or frequent medication.
- Exercise and Activities: We offer an extensive menu of activities to keep your pets active and engaged while you're away. This can help prevent boredom and destructive behavior in your absence. This also allows us to further bond with your pet which greatly reduces stress.
- Safety: Boarding your pets can be safer than leaving them at home or with a pet sitter. We have safety protocols in place to ensure the well-being of your pets, such as secure fencing and staff trained in pet safety and emergency procedures.
For resort services including boarding, grooming, daycare, or training. – hang a right and head over to the park in front of the PET RESORT and SPAW, which is the original building!
Come on in right inside our lobby we are happy to help with any belongings. If the cones are up head into our open drive-thru on the pet resort side.
Dogs visiting the facility must be current on rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordetella (kennel cough) vaccines AND have a NEGATIVE parasite stool screening within the last 6 months.
Cats must be current on rabies, and distemper, be free of FeLV, FIP, and FIV, AND have a NEGATIVE parasite stool screening within the last 6 months.
If your pet needs boosters or stool screenings, we are happy to provide this service during your pet’s stay. For your convenience, we can also do veterinary exams and heartworm checks, as well.
Vaccine requirements for all services
Which vaccinations are required to board my pet at DRIFTWOOD VET?
Dogs visiting the facility must be current on rabies, distemper/parvo, and canine upper respiratory vaccine (kennel cough) vaccines. Cats must be current on rabies and distemper vaccines, and be free of FeLV, FIP, and FIV (give us a call if this is an issue). When you visit us with your pet make sure to bring your vaccination records if they are from another veterinarian - if there are any vaccines that are out of date or missing we are happy to have them done while your pet stays with us at Driftwood PET RESORT and SPAW, but if we are not able to find a record of vaccines we will need to update them in order to have them board with us. If your pet has had a previous vaccine reaction, please let us know so that we may update their profiles and keep all of our four-legged friends healthy and happy!
Why do you require a NEGATIVE parasite stool screening within 6 months of boarding my pet?
Nobody likes a parasite! Transmission is largely through the poo - and while we run a pretty clean ship here, poo happens. A parasite-free stool sample every 6 months is the GOLD STANDARD for maintaining health and well-being per the recommendation of the Companion Animal Parasite Council (CAPC). For the safety of our guests and Pet Resort and SPAW team members, it is critically important that everyone is parasite-free - so we can focus on the fun things... like Pupdates and Cat Chat posts!
When would I need to pay a deposit for an overnight stay?
We are happy to make reservations for your pet's stay, but dog boarding at Driftwood PET RESORT and SPAW does get full for holiday dates. We do require a $100 deposit when booking over busy holidays. This will ensure that your pet has a spot reserved during these busy times. If cancellation is needed, the deposits are refundable to your payment card up to 10 to 7 days before the start of the reservation. If you need to cancel less than 10 days before your pet's stay, you may be outta luck - but give us a call and we'll talk about options.
What is your plan if my dog becomes seriously ill?
Our staff veterinarian will advise our Driftwood PET RESORT and SPAW staff and contact you with options in the event that your dog becomes ill. If time is of the essence and it is a true emergency outside of normal doctor hours, we may opt to take your pet into the emergency clinic. Your pet's safety and well-being are our priority.
We proudly offer a peace-of-mind insurance plan through Driftwood Vet. Our plan covers any unforeseen medical services your pet may need while in our care. The plan does cover all costs at Driftwood Vet based on what the staff deems as quality care.
Do I need to bring my own food?
YES! Keeping your pet happy and healthy requires that you bring your pet's food to maintain good stools and GI health. Pre-measured meals or detailed measurements and instructions are helpful to ensure that our PET RESORT and SPAW staff is properly feeding your pet! In the event that you are unable to bring your pet's food, we are happy to provide our "house diet" for a daily fee.
How many times per day are the dogs let outside?
The dogs are let outside 4 times per day: morning, noon, and night.
Are the dogs let out together?
If dogs are in the same family and get along with each other, we let them out together. Otherwise, they are let out into their own separate yards to minimize conflicts and disease.
What happens during doggie playtime?
Each dog is different - some might need more time outside to get some fresh air while others like to sit on your lap and be petted. We try and cater the playtime to their individual needs one on one.
What happens during a trail hike for my dog?
Dogs get to hike privately and one-on-one with a Driftwood PET RESORT and SPAW team member, unless they have another dog family member that walks with them. We have different trails to accommodate all dogs - large and small! We recommend these hikes for ALL of our "energetic" guests on a daily basis, and at least every other day for guests having an extended stay.
Are your accommodations for my pet heated and air-conditioned?
YES, of course! Our PET RESORT and SPAW offer a climate-controlled, secure, safe, and comfortable place for your pet.
What size are your kennels?
They vary to fit your pet. We have smaller quarters for smaller dogs and cats, and indoor runs for big dogs or multi-dog households. We take a great deal of pride in the cleanliness of our facility and would be happy to show them to you on a tour.
What's so sweet about the suites?
Our suites are situated up front with our Driftwood PET RESORT and SPAW office staff, so there is a lot of "people interaction" throughout the stay. Pets must pass a temperament test to qualify for a stay in our suites. Pets in our suites also get first-in-line service for attention, feeding and potty breaks!
